All-terrains on a TourX?

Done. As far as I know, I’m the first one to put all-terrains on a Buick TourX. I have to say they look amazing. It really fills out the wheelwells and makes it look a bit more rugged and helps make the plastic cladding look more cohesive. I'm working on making the TourX a mild mild overlanding vehicle. I have a cargo basket on the way

Falken Wildpeak Trails are the tires I chose in OEM size

That looks AWESOME!

Once you get the basket on you need some rally lights.

Why basket when you can go rooftop tent?

ohhh those would have looked good with my setup. However, I will never go off-road in any capacity in this vehicle when I have the truck option.

Fair enough. It is my only car but Buick has marketed it as an outback competition so I’m gonna make it right.

Plus it's fun seeing what I can do with it

Yep, they are up there.  But I’d rather sleep in one of those than inside the car.  So much better airflow and less bugs.  REI has some budget ones with good quality.

Did you think about going with a higher sidewall

I’m looking into swapping bumper covers and adding the side skirts from the Opel. Just Opel OEM shocks, springs, and struts...mmmm. Yes. Like this but keeping the Buick badges.

You shoulda put some all-terrains on those Eagle wheels!

Whats the story with the Opel OEM springs/shocks/struts?  Lower?  Taller?  or just supposed to be nicer?

It does the opposite. It just turns it back into a station wagon. Removes all of the black cladding basically.

Ye ah , I get that part . But he was also talking about the suspension bits, and I wasn’t sure why. Or was he swapping the body parts and keeping the Opel suspension. Hell, now I’ve confused myself!

Lower. By about an inch IIRC. There’s a bit of a gap between the top of the tire and the fender that I’d like to get rid of. I think the GSI ones are the way to go but I don’t use the car that much.

Cool!  That’s going to be one sharp looking wagon if you do all that to it.

I’m curious / will be curious what your thoughts are on these tires - specifically wet performance, but overall as well. These are on the list for eventual replacements on  the Crosstrek, but not if on-road performance is comprised.

I have been on some mild trails and rustic tent camping in my TourX. Ground clearance and overhangs are pretty bad, but the twin-clutch AWD did admirably well getting to the top of the hill for this site. Stock M/S tires are good , not great . I like your roof bars: I have the Thule bars and they look so much better than the Buick ones ( which look like Easter basket handles due to GM sunroof clearance requirements) .

I think I'm one of the very few that actually like the cladding. I think it makes it looks interesting

Just thought it might help in the ground clearance.
